Often times, the only part of music illuminated to the world is perfected and finished products, yet there is so much more than this below the surface. To me, the path is what truly matters, and the destination is just one sliver of this. My goal for this project was to shed light on the time and effort that is dedicated to the art of music performance behind the scenes, and show a snippet of a musician’s journey. To do this, I chose to play with long exposure photography (for the first time) and experiment with how to capture something so mobile and fluid within a single frame. This proved to be quite a feat, so I have included both the final product, and my trial and error process to provide context.
